What to Know Before Your First Lash Appointment at Moja Beauty

Let’s be real — if you’ve been stalking lash extensions on Instagram, saving TikToks, and zooming in on your favorite influencers' eyes… this post is for you.

We’ve all been there: curious, maybe a little nervous, but sooo ready to wake up looking effortlessly put together. Whether you're a total lash newbie or just new to Moja Beauty, here's everything you need to know before your first lash appointment — no gatekeeping.

First Things First:

Welcome to Moja

We’re a boutique brow + lash studio based in Cherry Creek, Denver. Our vibe? Elevated, clean girl beauty with a chill, no-pressure energy. Every lash set is customized to your face, your routine, and your lash health. This isn’t one-size-fits-all — it’s one-size-fits-YOU.

What Are Lash Extensions, Actually?

Lash extensions are tiny synthetic lashes applied one by one to your natural lashes with a safe, semi-permanent adhesive. They add length, curl, and volume so you can skip mascara — and the daily “do I look tired?” spiral.

We offer:

  • Classic (natural, defined)

  • Hybrid (a mix of classic and volume — our most popular)

  • Volume (fluffy, bold, still wearable)

Not sure which one is for you? Don’t stress. We’ll consult before we start and help you pick based on your eye shape, lifestyle, and vibe.

What to Expect During Your Appointment

Your first lash appointment can take up to 2 hours. You’ll be lying down (comfy, eyes closed — it’s basically a nap with benefits). You’ll listen to a playlist or totally zone out. Some of our clients call it their “therapy hour.”

No makeup, no talking necessary (unless you want to chat, of course). Just show up with clean lashes and comfy clothes.

Before You Arrive

Here’s your little pre-lash checklist:

✔️ Arrive with squeaky clean lashes — no makeup, oils, or residue
✔️ Avoid caffeine (it can make your eyes twitchy)
✔️ Wear comfy clothes — you’ll be cozy for a bit
✔️ Avoid heavy skincare around the eyes that day
✔️ Use the restroom before we get started

Bonus: If you’re feeling unsure or have allergies/sensitivities, let us know ahead of time. We’re all about keeping things safe, comfy, and personalized.

Aftercare = Long-Lasting Lashes

Once your lashes are on point, here’s how to keep them that way:

  • Avoid water and steam for 24 hours

  • Brush them daily with a clean spoolie (we’ll give you one!)

  • Use oil-free products around your eyes

  • Avoid rubbing or sleeping face-down (we know, we know)

  • Book a fill every 2–3 weeks to keep them fresh

We’ll go over all of this at your appointment, but just know: lash extensions are low-maintenance, not no-maintenance — but once you get the hang of it, it’s a total beauty game changer.
